The Resist Conscription Committee was a post-World War II movement with offices on both coasts and in Chicago. Its temporary Executive Committee included Julius Eichel, George Houser, A.J. Muste, and James Peck, who were among the leading pacifists of the era. The Committee's purpose was to determine public sentiment about peacetime conscription and to inform the Federal government of their findings.
